Commercial Licensing & Usage

Recorder offers flexible licensing options to suit both individual creators and professional organizations. To use Recorder for business, marketing, or any revenue-generating activities, a valid commercial license is required.

Obtaining a Commercial License

The most straightforward way to obtain commercial usage rights is by purchasing a Desktop License. This license is designed for professionals who primarily work with local recordings and require full editing capabilities.

Desktop License Options

  • One-time Purchase: $98 for a lifetime license (perpetual for a single device).
  • Annual Subscription: $34.99 per year.

You can purchase a license directly from our Pricing Page.

What's Included in the Commercial License?

When you purchase a Desktop License or subscribe to Recorder Pro, you receive full commercial usage rights. This includes:

  • Commercial Usage Rights: Use your recordings for client work, internal business presentations, marketing materials, and monetized social media content (e.g., YouTube, LinkedIn).
  • Studio Mode: Access to our full-featured video editor for professional-grade cuts and transitions.
  • Unlimited Local Recordings: No limits on the number or length of videos recorded to your local drive.
  • Export Options: Export your projects to high-quality MP4 or GIF formats.
  • 4K Export: Create high-resolution content for professional displays.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use the Free version for business?

The Free version of Recorder is intended for personal, non-commercial use only. For any business-related activities, please upgrade to a Desktop License or a Pro plan.

Is the license per user or per device?

The Desktop License is granted to a single user for use on a single device. For team-wide licensing, please consider our Recorder Pro or Enterprise plans.

Do I own the content I create?

Yes. Once you have a valid commercial license, you own the intellectual property of the recordings you create using Recorder, and you have the right to distribute them for commercial purposes.

What happens if I cancel my annual subscription?

If you are on the $34.99/year plan and cancel, you will retain commercial rights for any content created during your active subscription period. However, you will lose access to the Desktop License features (like unlimited local recordings and full Studio Mode) once the subscription expires. The Lifetime License ($98) removes this concern as it is a perpetual license.
